‘Tioweh’ unfolds like a post-storm landscape—charged, hyper-ionized. Something traumatic has occurred (as told in the opening track), but it’s over now. Calm down, and a transition (initiation) into a better space occurs. There is peace now, and a transition is underway—an initiation into a new space. Sonic flashes, sparks, and flickers give the soundscape a sense of movement. Yet, it’s an illusion of motion, driven by the creator’s awareness.
Once we’ve learned the steps of this dance-ambient ritual, we begin to dance. We dance the story itself. It’s experienced with gentle emotion, though the music seems to urge us awake. Hence, the Tibetan sounds:’ Wake up, man! Wake up, you’re dreaming…’ But when dreams bring comfort… There follows an inner dialogue in the tracks. Consciousness talks with illusion – ambient magic’s illusions.
A dialogue begins within the music. Consciousness speaks with illusion. This is the magic of ambient; an inner conflict unfolds, a conflict between iteration and tautology.
A choice is made; a journey begins. The space detaches from the self and moves toward something unknown, intimate, and personal to the creator. There is no rush.
A journey: every child’s dream (and every prophet’s vision…). It’s charming to lack haste, which adds truth to the story.
No repeats. There is another space however. The person has gained courage and looks with one eye into darkness. The sound of sea waves softens the rising unease. It feels like we’ve arrived in Thebes, or Thrace. ‘Thalassos’—the sea’s waves gently breaking on the shore—hint that this might be western Ionia. The inner voice falls silent. A space is forming for something to come. There is a sense of eschaton, of quiet expectation.
Above, the cosmos stretches endlessly. Absolutely everything exists: ‘Tioweh’.
